Every year, I print one year of my work for paid subscribers at the Collector tier. The print edition is sold out, but the digital edition is still available here.
Patricia Faggi designed volume III, and her cover represents both collapse and unity. If we move upward, we move toward unity; but if we move downward, we head for collapse. The cover is meant to be ambiguous—we don’t yet know which way we are headed—and this has been a theme of my work this year.
Including an introduction written by me, a foreword written by Austin Tindle, and the complete “Letters to an Anarchist” series with Peter Clayborne, here are all of the essays included in Elysian Volume III:
GOVERNANCE:
- US states should have autonomy—like EU countries
- We should create more US states
- How we achieve the borderless future of Terra Ignota
- Maybe villages are our future—not just cities
- Is America about to fall? Or flourish?
- So, America wants a dictator
- Democrats need a Mamdani-type to win
- Are Democrats too liberal or too conservative?
- Am I a Democrat or a Republican?
- The rich are controlling our government
- A grassroots party for the middle
CAPITALISM
- How Silicon Valley got rich
- Who should control AI?
- Companies are the new city-states
- If you have a social mission, go into business
- 12 million employee owners in one generation
- No, KKR is not equity washing
- By all means, let private equity save capitalism
- Stop pretending billionaires built the future
- Mark Cuban’s right—end exorbitant CEO pay
ENVIRONMENT
- We can terraform Earth—not just Mars
- How much of the planet should we harm for our comfort?
- We could return three continents of land to the wild
- A self-governing forest
- Maybe an exowomb is better than pregnancy
PHILOSOPHY
- Social Development > Self-Development
- This Chinese philosopher reformed politics in one generation
- Ancient Olympians wouldn’t qualify for today’s games
- It’s ok to live in a fantasyland
